A northern Michigan intimate wedding… on a cliff!
Last summer, I had the honor of photographing two of my favorites on their wedding day up north. They had big plans for the weekend, but I was tasked to photograph the intimate wedding with very close friends and family. For the rest of the weekend, I celebrated accordingly! It truly was such an honor to be part of it all, but I have to say, witnessing their vows with Lake Michigan as a backdrop seriously took the cake. After vows by the water, we all headed to the barn at LakeStar Farms for the rest of the festivities and to celebrate.
Dinner was incredible, too. Thoughtfully prepared by one of their favorite restaurants in Detroit, Grey Ghost, and devoured (aka, thoroughly enjoyed) by us all. It was easily one of the best meals I have had at a wedding, to date. Oh, and so much wine that was carefully selected by the couple themselves.
While Ed and Melissa live in the Chicagoland area, they have a vacation home in northern Michigan, so a wedding up there only made sense. They got ready in the resort where their vacation home is with their friends all around them. And, the sweetest was having their girls help Melissa as she got ready. It really was all too much. So very special.
Take a look.

With these two finally married, we all headed over to Lakestar Farms for an incredible meal from Detroit’s amazing Grey Ghost to celebrate them and their love.
