An intimate wedding in Northwestern’s secret Shakespeare Garden
Last summer, I was lucky enough to photograph this intimate wedding in Evanston’s Shakespeare Garden. What a dream this was, you all! The flowers were popping and the bees were buzzing as these two exchanged their vows. It really was magical. They had a very small group at the gardens and followed it up with a lovely dinner at Evanston Corner Bistro. The next day, we headed to Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba for brunch and a larger party.
And, a special shoutout to Rebecca and her team from Something Profound! They were a dream to work with. Would recommend.
The wild part is that one of my very first brides referred these two to me. But then, as we were talking in our initial call, I was thinking she looked familiar. I quickly learned that she was also from my hometown and that we both went to high school at the same time. Turned out, she was also living in Evanston… far from home. I also learned that we had mutual friends… and then, that her parents knew mine. It is a small world, you all! I truly could not believe it and it was wonderful to be able to document this time for Katy and Jeff. Having all of this in common was also really lovely. Sometimes the world truly is so small and beautiful.
Take a look.
After some quick wedding portraits in the Shakespeare Gardens, we headed to the Northwestern’s Lakefill for a few more portraits with just the two of them.
All was followed by celebration!
Next up! A brunch gathering and party with even more of their favorite friends and family at Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba!
Thanks for having me, you two! Congratulations!!
