Enjoy Evanston: A year of documenting my town & the businesses, via All Together
Last year, I was absolutely honored to work alongside All Together Studio on this project for Enjoy Evanston. You see, All Together is a woman-owned company doing amazing work focused on place-based marketing and branding. I started working with them in the design world first, then started working with them on several placemaking and branding initiatives over the last several years.
The focus for this project was to show off all of the amazing things Evanston has to offer. It also focused on the businesses and their owners… many of which, were new to me. Being semi-new to Evanston, I got to explore new areas and meet new businesses. I took their portraits and left feeling more connected to my community. It was a pretty fantastic project to be part of… especially since I live here. I could not have loved this project more. Easily one of my favorite things that I have worked on.
And, the wildest thing was seeing how connected this work was to a wedding day. Thinking on my feet from business to business. Not being able to plan ahead too much, always finding the light and being open to the adventure all had me reflecting on the storytelling of it all. That’s the fun stuff… documentary storytelling always and forever.
This work clearly deserved a much-belated place on the old blog though, so here we go. Enjoy!

Thanks for this opportunity, All Together Studio!
